Using Open space technology for planning the days together,

Part one is an exchange meeting which addresses people sharing NVC in educational settings: We hope to engage trainers who are already sharing NVC at the moment as well as attracting those of you who are interested in sharing NVC and who seek inspiration, who will benefit from hearing about the experiences of those who are currently working in this field.

Ideas we would like to include are: Best practise - collecting documents, getting to know each other/networking connections, collecting evaluations/references/reports; Input for inspiration and perspective and new ideas: Exchange and share reports from people who bring their experiences of using NVC in education: Lectures to provide practical clarity and input on the importance of the communication process in a learning context, and how to implement democracy and NVC values in the school system Coping with challenged children Nonviolent Education – project in kindergartens in Europe Learnings from Skarpnack Free school in Stockholm

Future projects: co-ordination & funding; Content of a NVC course for teachers and teacher training; Learn from people what they're struggling with in getting NVC into schools; The ways we can approach the school environment with NVC; How to talk to deciders/authorities who have expressed an interest in NVC; How to connect to objections and criticism; Resources: offers and requests. Offered positions for teachers, teachers looking for new job, announcing resources

Part one of the course ends with exploring what we've enjoyed and planning next time!

Part two is course which addresses sharing NVC with teachers : We hope to engage teachers who are interested in implementing NVC in their classroom, school, system. Trainers taking part in part one will put the course content from part one into practice; How to implement NVC in the classroom and school whilst taking care of yourself; How to transmit NVC to your students; How to talk to your boss who has expressed an interest in NVC; How to connect to objections and criticism ; The underlying values in a national curriculum (eg in France "Equality, Liberty and Friendship"); Getting to know each other/networking connections, building support teams; Resources - offers and requests: offered positions for teachers, teachers looking for a new job, announcing resources.

Part two of the course ends with exploring what we've enjoyed and planning next time!

Getting to Carcassonne: Ryan Air fly direct to Carcassonne from London Stansted, Dublin, Shannon, Brussels, Cork, Edinburgh, Leeds and Liverpool (www.ryanair.com) Toulouse International airport is 80 Km, then train to Carcassonne (about 60 minutes) We will endeavour to encourage shared taxis for the 15 minute drive from Carcassonne to the village of Montolieu where the event is taking place.

Pricing: Our intention is to keep the first part of this week as a non-profit meeting with a small contribution from each person attending towards basic costs like food, tea and coffee and organisational costs. Each person will pay for their travel and accommodation (a range of prices is available, from B&B to hotel). The second part which we imagine as being more course orientated will include a workshop fee for the teachers attending.
